Licensure |
MASCD, MSSAA (the Massachusetts Secondary School Administrators' Association), and Teachers21 sponsor an innovative program to license principals/assistant principals and supervisors/directors (LLP), and superintendents/assistant superintendents (LLPS in partnership with READS Collaborative). The Leadership Licensure Programs are rigorous, comprehensive programs built on the knowledge base on effective teaching and learning and the best practices of effective instructional and organizational leadership. Designed with the practicing educator in mind, the programs include summer and weekend coursework, a practicum, a performance assessment, and beginning administrator induction. Highly skilled educational leaders teach the curriculum modules, while district-based mentors and program supervisors support participants’ work in the practicum. These unique programs feature an integrated approach to learning and doing and offer an effective framework for collaboration and reflection. The Leadership Licensure Programs begin in June and conclude the following May. The LLP offers a masters degree option from Endicott College. The LLPS offers a Ph.D. option from Lesley College. Graduates of the LLP may also be eligible for the Ph.D. option. The LLP and LLPS include an induction program for new administrators after they are licensed.
